On January 1, 2009, the new commune of Haute-Ajoie was formed as a result of the merger of four communes: Chevenez, Damvant, Réclère and Roche d'Or.As these villages are located in the Haute-Ajoie region, the new commune was naturally named "Commune de Haute-Ajoie".
