Situation

It was on January 1, 2009 that the new commune of Haute-Ajoie was formed. It is the result of the merger of four municipalities which are Chevenez, Damvant, Réclère, Roche d'Or. From January 1, 2018, the former commune of Rocourt joined the commune of Haute-Ajoie These villages being located in Haute-Ajoie, it is quite naturally that the new commune was called "Commune de Haute-Ajoie". Altitude: Chevenez 480 m Damvant 610 m Réclère 592 m Roche-d'Or 840-936 m Rocourt 508 m Area: 3647 hectares, including 1398 hectares of forest. Population: 1104 inhabitants on 31.12.2017 The commune of Haute-Ajoie has kept a typical character of Ajoie and agriculture is well represented. Industry is well represented there by the company Les Ateliers Busch SA - Vacuum pumps, located in Chevenez and which offers jobs to the entire Ajoie region and even beyond. There are also shops, small workshops, artisans, tourist facilities, artists. Associative life is rich in activities. All these elements mean that the town has a remarkable quality and living environment.
