Situation

The new commune of Haute-Ajoie was formed on January 1, 2009. It is the result of the merger of four communes which are Chevenez, Damvant, Réclère, Roche d'Or.

As of January 1, 2018, the former commune of Rocourt joined the commune of Haute-Ajoie

As these villages are located in Haute-Ajoie, it is quite natural that the new commune was called "Commune de Haute-Ajoie".
