Situation

Saint-Imier is a municipality in the canton of Bern in Switzerland, located in the administrative district of the Bernese Jura. Saint-Imier is 15 km as the crow flies from La Chaux-de-Fonds. It gave its name to the valley of Saint-Imier (region formerly called Erguel), irrigated by the Suze river, descending towards the Taubenloch gorges, near Rondchâtel. The highest point is 1,490 m, at la Corne, on the side of the Chasseral. On the Montagne du Droit, the municipal area amounts to 1,289 m, at Mont-Soleil. From Mont-Soleil, the municipal area descends in the direction of Chaux-d'Abel, which is geographically part of the Franches-Montagnes.
